Securus Technologies has recently acquired GovPayNet. This acquisition was made in order to strengthen Securus’ position as a leader in the corrections industry. With a combined 50 years’ experience, the two are looking to bring game-changing technology to the business. Another key player is JPay. The company also joined Securus in the last year. Both JPay and GovPayNet are in the specialty area of payment processing. Working with millions of customers and thousands of agencies each year; the companies bring a ton of experience in addition to Securus’ specialty of telecommunications.
The largest project all three companies are working together on is wireless containment systems. These devices work as a cellular tower; however, instead of connecting the call through its network, it blocks the contact. Callers are notified that call (or message) failed to complete. It’s unclear as to whether this technology would prevent data messaging services from being used such as Facebook Messenger, or Whatsapp. Although there haven’t been any official press releases on the technology’s success, it’s been stated that the technology has delivered desirable results. This technology is critically important, as numerous crimes have been the result of undetected cell phone communications.
Although there have been so many recent developments with Securus Technologies; the company remains customer focused and dedicated to providing great service. Recently, the company provided alternatives to telephone calls and has also been able to reduce the costs of all services. The Better Business Bureau has also given Securus Technologies an “A+” in recognition of their efforts. With an over 95 percent customer satisfaction rating, it’s easy to see why Securus is getting so much recognition, lately. The company has also been praised by its internal customers as well. Thankful for the services provided by Securus, such as inmate monitoring; their jobs have been made much easier. It’ll be interesting to see what develops with the WCS and all other projects in the works.
